Actores como Nicolas Cage se han sumado al reparto. El guión corre a cargo de Timothy Harris (Space Jam), y la dirección será de David Bowers. El casting, de momento, está formado por Nicolas Cage (Leaving Las Vegas, The Rock, National Treasure), Donald Sutherland (M*A*S*H, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within), Nathan Lane (El Rey León), Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Underworld, Piratas del Caribe) y Eugene Levy (American Pie). Freddie Highmore (Charlie y la Fábrica de Chocolate) será Astroboy.
